With the Nintendo DSx86 v0.03 you can get an array of benefits and this homebrew coder Pate has released the third version of DSx86. The new homebrew is actually a DOS emulator for the Nintendo DS and it helps homebrew emulate with the 80286 processor. Some of the other features available in the homebrew are its MCGA graphics adapter, SoundBlaster audio and the special 83-key US keyboard. There have also been a lot of updates for homebrew bringing in the preliminary support for EGA 320×200 16-color modes.
As per the comments of the developers of the homebrew the latest version would be bringing in preliminary support for EGA 320×200 16-color modes. There would also be the provision for the Packed File Corrupt fix and there is going to be a much improved opcode support. There are only going to be a few 8086 opcodes still unsupported and you can enjoy with the graphics modes like the EGA which is using different versions of some of the opcodes. However, you should be careful that you may have to give up on the “Unsupported opcode” errors. There is also a lot of testing going on related to the EGA support using Duke Nukem 2, which is going to be the shareware version. It has glitches, but quite playable features. Some complain that the time taken for downloads is very long but the Nintendo homebrew compensates for this problem with other benefits.
