Burnout has usually always followed an arcade style of gaming. With the introduction of an open world environment in Burnout Paradise, the game becomes even better and more exciting to destroy.
The game focuses a lot on exploration in Paradise City and even if you lose a race, you seem to have won another one that you weren’t participating in. The tutorials do a good job of explaining the mechanics to you and though the game may overwhelm at first, you settle into the rhythm and start to enjoy. The ability to move forward by simply crashing on things makes the game an improvement. The AI is better and the online support makes for endless hours of replay. The game may seem easier at first but ups the challenge in the latter half. You can design and swap your own tracks and set challenges. The presentation of the game is excellent with the car crashes visuals and sounds detailed in an exquisite manner. The game is enough like other Burnout games but adds an individual flavour to a great series.
The controls have some minor quirks mostly because of the removal of certain controls from the earlier games. Players will face slight difficulties in a standard TV screen. Apart from those who dislike the open world format, the game is a must buy for all.
