Devil May Cry 4 (Xbox 360)

Devil May Cry 4 comes as a relief to all those players who thought Devil May Cry 3 was unfair and extremely tough. The game isn’t a cakewalk but does provide a gentler ramp for the difficulty level. Like all the other games in the series, the action is sleek and sexy while the wonderful boss fights and cinema worthy cut scenes will leave you asking for more.

You spend most of the time as Nero, a new comer who must learn the truths of his organization and Dante as well. The game isn’t full of twists but is a lesson in theatrical treatment of a game. Nero has the advantage of his arm, called the ‘devil bringer’ that works by pulling distant enemies in. Nero’s moves are a highlight of the game, with combos and melee attacks provoking much excitement. There are secret missions and challenging but gratifying tasks. The action will keep you hooked as will the beauty of the boss fights. The controls are easy to learn, making the fights winnable and enthralling.

The play becomes repetitive when you play consecutive levels in the same surroundings. The basic way to kill all enemies remains the same, the only variety being the large options in terms of weapons and attacks. The game looks and feels beautiful and even though the sounds are a bit overused, the game is recommended as a great play.
